The world is constantly changing around us and music is one of the few aspects of life that remains at the core of our existence. Music affects our lives every day. Teaching students to produce, critique, appreciate and love music is a daunting, but rewarding task. The music teacher sees a smile on a child's face after successfully playing four measures of music after hours of hard work; he later sees that same smile in response to a room full of people roaring in applause. In this way, the educator observes the magical effect that music has on humans. A quality education in Instrumental Music teaches the fundamental skills that students will use to improve the quality of their life: physical, intellectual, creative, aesthetic, critical, social and emotional. |
